Safety & Safeguarding

PfS Plymouth is run by qualified teachers, employed by Plymouth City Council who are all CRB checked and trained to work with young people. Staff have experience of regularly delivering activity programmes. Internet access is used during this programme and sites are filtered through the education provider – South West Grid for Learning which is used in all Plymouth schools. There is no access to social networking sites. Photographs and Mobile Phones are permitted and pupils will be asked to abide by our policy which protects access to photographs of other pupils and outlines when and where their use is appropriate. There will be a First Aider on site for every activity.

We have strict procedures for signing in and out.

Schools, Parents and Carers have a responsibility to complete details and ensure we know all relevant information to care for pupils. We will not accept young people who cannot comply with our code of conduct and show respect for staff and others. (To view full details of our policies please use the menu item at the top of this page) Students are not required to wear school uniform but should wear clothing appropriate to the experience being undertaken. They will need to bring a packed lunch, drink and pencil case. Additional snacks may be purchased from our small on-site tuck shop.

As PfS funding comes to an end, we are now able to offer you some new opportunities for after school activities where pupils can continue to learn, play and succeed with us without even having to leave the comfort of their own school.

All of our sessions follow the high quality delivery standards that you have come to expect from PfS and our staff are very experienced in working with pupils of all abilities and backgrounds. There are no restrictions on age or ability but we suggest an ideal group size is of no more than 15.

We hope to offer clubs which extend pupils' experiences and give access to exciting resources and activities which are not always available in school. We will provide everything necessary to deliver our activities from laptop computers with state-of -the-art software to digital cameras and helium sticks!

We have rigorous Safeguarding policies and all staff are CRB checked through Plymouth City Council. We will visit your school prior to beginning the club to ensure that we are familiar with all safety issues particular to your school and risk assessments will be provided for our activities. There will need to be a member of staff available in school during the sessions in case of emergency.

Our after school clubs run for an hour and a half at the end of your school day although timings are flexible and we are happy to discuss running any of these courses for parents, families or as a part of activities or enrichment weeks.

Clubs start at £20 per pupil for 5 or 6 week club and we are happy for you to offer these as bought in provision, parents' payment or using School Allsortz funding.
